About the Role

Emmy Award–winning video production agency Puritano Media Group (PMG) is seeking a part-time Business Development & Outreach Manager to support client growth through proactive outreach, relationship building, and sales support.

This role focuses on generating and developing new business opportunities for PMG by identifying prospects, initiating conversations, maintaining an organized pipeline, and supporting deal progression. The position works closely with PMG leadership to ensure outreach efforts align with company goals and translate into real opportunities.

While this role collaborates with existing marketing efforts, it is not a content- or ad-management position. The emphasis is on direct outreach, relationship development, and sales execution.

Puritano Media Group is a Northern Virginia–based video production company with nearly 30 years of experience serving associations, agencies, nonprofits, government, and brand clients. We are known for our professionalism, reliability, and creative execution, and we work with organizations that value long-term partnerships.

As PMG continues to grow, we are adding focused business development support to help expand our reach and increase project volume.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Development & Outreach Manager will support revenue growth by:

  • Identifying and researching prospective clients, partners, and markets aligned with PMG’s services

  • Conducting outreach via email, phone, LinkedIn, and in-person networking

  • Re-engaging past PMG leads and maintaining warm relationships

  • Attending relevant networking events and industry functions (DMV area)

  • Booking and coordinating qualified sales meetings with PMG leadership

  • Supporting follow-up and deal progression for active opportunities

  • Closing smaller projects independently when appropriate

Sales Operations & Reporting

  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date CRM database of leads, contacts, and opportunities

  • Tracking outreach activity, conversations, and pipeline status

  • Providing weekly lead and activity reports summarizing:

    • New contacts and conversations

    • Meetings booked or held

    • Active opportunities and next steps​

  • Assisting with tailored proposals or informational materials for prospective clients

  • Supporting RFP research and responses when relevant to PMG’s offerings

  • Collaborating with leadership on messaging or positioning for outreach

This role does not manage day-to-day social media posting, newsletters, or paid advertising campaigns.

Ideal Background

Strong candidates often come from backgrounds such as:

  • Agency business development or account management

  • Video, AV, experiential, or creative services sales

  • Association sales, sponsorships, or partnerships

  • Government contracting business development or capture

  • Other professional services sales environments

Experience selling services with longer decision cycles is a plus.

Skills & Qualities We Value

  • Comfort initiating conversations with decision-makers

  • Strong organizational habits and follow-through

  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication

  • Ability to manage a CRM and report on activity consistently

  • Self-motivated and reliable in a part-time role

  • Collaborative, professional demeanor when representing PMG

Schedule & Work Structure

  • Part-time: Approximately 15–25 hours per week

  • Hybrid: Combination of remote work and in-person meetings/office time in Occoquan, VA

  • Flexible schedule, with some availability during standard business hours

Compensation
  • Hourly rate: $25–$35/hour, depending on experience

  • Commission: 8–12% of gross revenue on deals you originate or close

  • Classification: 1099 contractor (no benefits)

Commission earnings increase as deal size and volume grow.
